Rooftops Canada works with Canadian and International partners to improve housing conditions, build sustainable communities and develop a shared vision of equitable global development
Rooftops Canada focuses on Sub-Saharan Africa where 70% of urban families - about 300 million people - live in slums. It is very challenging for these families to thrive when every day they face overcrowding, insecure tenure, violence, lack of basic services and have few opportunities to earn a living. Working with extraordinary local partners - including housing and civil society organizations, local governments, credit and trade unions, universities, and the private sector - we’re able to support urban people living in poverty, especially women, secure their rights to live in peace and dignity.
