About Us

Our Mission

Rooftops Canada is the international development program of co-operative and social housing organizations in Canada. Rooftops Canada works with the Canadian housing sector and overseas partners to improve housing conditions, build sustainable communities and develop a shared vision of equitable global development. Rooftops Canada's focus is on disadvantaged communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe.

Technical Assistance
Rooftops Canada draws on the experience of senior practitioners in social and co-op housing development and related fields. Technical Assistance missions vary from several weeks to two years or more.

Training and Capacity Building
Training people and building local institutions are integral parts of Rooftops Canada programs. Specialized training, study tours and workshops for NGOs, government agencies and other housing practitioners are organized in Canada and in partner countries. Participants are exposed to a variety of ideas, practices and technologies they can apply in their home countries.
